Winchester Model 94 - .30-30 Win. Caliber Standard Carbine - Mfr. 1964 - Inventory #51

Presented here is a Winchester Model 94 chambered in .30-30 Win and in all original condition and configuration. The firearm is as clean as can be and functions flawlessly. The bore is bright and the rifling is a proud 9/10. This particular rifle was made in 1964, just after Winchester changed their production methods from milled steel receivers to using “sintered metal alloys” and the bluing process to a "Dulite Black Chrome Plate" method. As you can see from pictures of the carbine's left side, this bluing method did not hold up well and was later changed in 1968. The right side of the rifle, for reasons that can only be speculated on, held up just fine. The buttstock and forearm are as close to 10/10 as you can get and said wood shows no indication that it has been altered or refinished in any way. This is a statement to the firearms little use and the stark differences in the left to right sides of the receiver are likely due to the way in which it was stored. The furniture fits true to the gun and the buttstock features the correct checkered steel buttplate. The front and rear sights are period correct, but the 3C rear sight elevator is not. Since I've already taken the pictures I will leave it this way, but the purchaser of this firearm may request that I switch the elevator out. I will be happy to do it!
